Average number is an insufficient metric for interferometry

چکیده
We argue that analysing schemes for metrology solely in terms of the average particle number can obscure particles effectively used informative events. For a states we demonstrate that, both frequentist and Bayesian frameworks, state essentially be decoupled from aspects total distribution associated with any metrological advantage.

An average discrepancy for optimal vertex-modified number-theoretic rules
Number-theoretic rules are particularly suited for the approximation of multi-dimensional integrals in which the integrands are periodic. When the integrands are not periodic, then a vertex-modiied variant has been proposed. An error bound for such vertex-modiied rules is based on a simple generalization of the L2 discrepancy. In s dimensions these vertex-modiied rules contain 2 s weights which...

متن کاملAn Axiomatic and an Average-Case Analysis of Algorithms and Heuristics for Metric Properties of Graphs
In recent years, researchers proposed several algorithms that compute metric quantities of real-world complex networks, and that are very efficient in practice, although there is no worstcase guarantee. In this work, we propose an axiomatic framework to analyze the performances of these algorithms, by proving that they are efficient on the class of graphs satisfying certain axioms. Furthermore,...
متن کاملIs Hesaabdaaree an Adequate Equivalent for Accounting?
Some of the difficulties and misunderstandings that happen in accounting theory, practice, regulation and education are grounded in language and linguistics. As an illustration of this the Persian equivalent of 'accounting' is linguistically analysed to reveal how a mistranslation may cause difficulties in understanding and improving Iranian Accounting. This paper shows how Hesaabdaaree is not ...
متن کاملLow Rate Is Insufficient for Local Testability
Locally testable codes are error-correcting codes for which membership of a given word in the code can be tested probabilistically by examining it in very few locations. A linear code C ⊆ F2 is called sparse if dim(C) = O(log(n)). We say that a code C ⊆ F2 is -biased if all nonzero codewords of C have relative weight in the range ( 1 2 − , 1 2 + ), where may be a function of n. Kaufman and Suda...
